A QUICK LOOK BACK
Since its inception in 2010, Nixor Financial Services (NFS) has strived to innovate finance and business-related products and services with the purpose of raising Nixor College and its community to higher standards. It has regularly stretched the boundaries of what students can do.
This trend started with its marquee product, the Student Utility Interface Terminal (SUIT) Card, Asia’s first ever student run credit card, which not only allows students to make cash-free, discounted transactions but also helps them understand fiscal responsibility. NFS also operates Asia’s first-ever student run investment fund, NFS Capital, while also providing the students of Nixor College with a locker services.
Recently, NFS conducted Nixor’s first entrepreneurial competition as well as stock investment simulation, the NFS Summit and NSX which allowed students to gain an insight into the workings of the business world as well as the factors that affect stock prices and the acumen that is utilized in investment. More importantly, NFS, in partnership with LUMS Entrepreneurial Society, hosted Nixor Skyline, Nixor’s first inter-school entrepreneurial competition.
WHO ARE WE?
Created in 2010, Nixor Financial Services is a student-run corporate organization running along the lines of a bank, but offering much more. Cementing the trust that the Shark Community holds, it aims to offer top quality and risk-free financial services that have never been offered before. It caters to the community by providing vast financial and monetary facilities, unmatched exposure from a memorable corporate experience, which would never be enjoyed by a regular student.
Through our flagship products and services, our aim is to instill a culture of financial literacy among students and aiding them in the long run when it comes to corporate networking and learning vital skills. Our aim is thus to provide a wide array of financial assistance to students and other entities alike, whilst maintaining the Nixor vision through and through.
FOUNDER'S MESSAGE
This is a platform where the limits are defined by how far you push them. This is where you can skyrocket your journey into the realm of equity trading, finance management, entrepreneurship, and where you learn business by doing business, as a high school student. Nixor Financial Services, initially known as Nixor Bank, has served its purpose of engaging the Nixor student body to learn fiscal responsibility, simulate stock market trading, and explore startup culture.
Professionalism is a trait we treasure at NFS and this is the best age to learn corporate culture. A great example of this is professional work experience in the realm of commercial/retail banking with regards to SUIT. Students will make plenty of mistakes while engaging in this, but the earlier you make mistakes at these things, the better, by the time other people are making mistakes, you’ve already figured it out. You will get the chance to talk to clients and vendors years before any other students intern or start working. The experience gives you a leg ahead and it’s the biggest advantage in setting yourself apart from the competition in the job market.
This is only exemplified by the alumni network we have built for all the generations of NFS executive bodies to come, as they will have access to contacts ranging from Silicon Valley to Wall Street. The scale and impact of the work being done by high school students here are unmatched in many educational institutes abroad and in Pakistan. The limit to achievement is only determined by how you utilize this platform.
